Why the "hot loads"?

Officially trolled by sunray. I'm in the club. (Not that he was too far off though.. I'll take it with the salt)

Thanks guys, I picked up a couple books at a reputable dealer. Going to get going on the reads.

Again we view the continuation of sunray's education online. hahaha......

Handloading for your own specific firearm is a very personal thing.

I have a well used Remington 788 in 308 that has in the past, harvested lots of WT deer. At the other end of the 308 strength spectrum I have a Wichita 1375 target rifle, with three front locking lugs on the bolt head.

What I feed this Wichita, does not ever even just once considered to be safe ammunition for the rear bolt lugged 788.

Rifles are much like cars, some are capable of Daytona Beach like treatment day in and day out, while others you only take grocery shopping once in a while. ;)

No. It is just fiction, there is no science involved.

It's really really hard to take anyone seriously who almost made a career out of teaching cadets and his hunting experience seemingly circles around shooting a ground hog with a Garand loaded with 220 grain bullets once.

I may or may not be a little out of line with these words, but there it is......
