Why the XCR hate?

Yep.

The XCR is what it is. It's a hobby rifle with both odd and excellent features. It's too expensive (in Canada) for what it is, it's certainly not a military quality service rifle. Couldn't care less about Alex and his tantrums as we Canadian customers will never have to deal with him.

And I really like mine. It's cheap to shoot in 7.62x39 with 10 round pistol mags, and I've had one (1) malfunction in 2k when a round hung up in the mag. YMMV.
 
don't forget the single barrel retaining screw....

but I agree, if I could use an ar for hunting, wouldn't even think twice about ditching my xcr for an ar.
but as it stands, local range is 300 yards, sitting only. no steel, only paper.

instead a good friend has 36+ sections of land for me to shoot on, 365 days a year.hmmm.
I didn't want to touch on my concerns with certain design issues as these threads never allow for polite, calm, and thoughtful discussions of differing opinions.
