Why "USA" on Canadian Edition Glocks, but "Austria" on U.S. Glocks?

I have been watching quite a bit of Glock videos on YouTube, and notice that almost all the Glocks (new and old) reviewed in the U.S. have "Austria" on the slides. But the Canadian Edition Glocks we get have "USA" on the slides. I'm wondering why that is.

Edit:
OK a little more research tells me that U.S. customers receive "USA" stamped Glocks, too, especially the newer models.

From a 2017 Glock GA factory tour report:
"A large percentage of Glocks sold in the US are still made in Austria. All models can technically be made in the US facility, but currently only a small percentage of legacy Glock models are made in the US. During our tour, Glock was cranking out G42 models in the Smyrna facility at a blistering rate. Glock explained that Austria manufactures the bulk of the overall production and can absorb the sales peaks and fulfill unexpected demand."

Not sure why this is happening but my last 2 new Glocks were USA marked. I think Canada will be getting most or all of the new Glocks from USA now instead of the Austrian ones.

I would like to find out if i am able to purchase an Austrian made Glock? Mine is stamped USA which surprised me when i received it. I am in Ontario.

According to some GlockTalk "experts", the Glock U.S. factory makes all the export (to Canada) models. I guess that means we won't get any Austria marked Glocks, unless it is a domestic U.S. Austria marked model imported into Canada with an aftermarket threaded barrel.

Thanks for the info Terry. I am going to look into it a bit further as i would love to see what i can find. Im not an expert by any means. Maybe a company in Austria will ship directly to me! Lol
Have my doubts

probably because Glock US has a representative in Canada and Glock Austria does not?
and probably due in large part to geography, no?

its an interesting question though.
because arnt even all the Austria stamped Glocks that are for sale in the US put together in the US plant?

after doing some reading an article i was skimming said that the US plant only runs 1/4 the volume that the Austria plant does and the US makes mostly G19's due to those being their best seller in the states.
but the US plant can make any model.

I thought the U.S. started out as an assembly plant initially perhaps they don't make all the parts and still do assembly for some models
