Why use a BFG Vickers sling?

Just another reason to use a Vickers sling :D

Quick question. How does the latest magpul with QR sockets built in compare? I want one of the Vickers slings but with QR sockets on my rifle and wanting to be able to change between single point or double. I don't want to have to buy both and combine then. That gets expensive very fast.

That's quite the get up and another way to use your Vickers...A great way to hang yourself with it, break ribs, puncture a lung, etc...Sorry but horse equals scabbard.

A Vickers and the AR make a great combination but not on horseback...Just say'n.

I have a VCAS...where's my pony?

I still haven't decided how I want to connect it to my AR. At the moment I just have the naked strap through the slots on the MOE stock, and through my ARMS#41-B-L gas block. Strap is maybe 3/16" too wide for that, but I made it fit. However I'm not sure if it's worth getting one of the keymod sling mounts so I could attach the sling behind my off hand. Nevertheless, it's a good sling.

Fine they are great slings but it would be nice if they were in stock, then their virtues would be extolled once owned.

I would likely buy the non-padded in black but would need a mash hook as well, and both have been out of stock for quite some time.

Newbie disclaimer. And the challenge I have is (1) looks great on video, however can't see it in person (2) mounting this to my AR, I'll need QD adaptors or something to mount. So, the challenges of both 1 and 2 (and 3, I'm a newbie), prevent me from ordering one. (plus black is out of stock, that's a 4th reason).

OST, can you circulate pics on various ways to mount? Via QD? Other? pro/cons? I would love to come by the shop, however not possible.

3 Cases (120) of Black slings with Acetol adjuster are arriving next week. Lots of metal adjuster ones in stock.

We just had 1000 slings go through for a big PO so some of the other items were pushed back a bit.

I just brought two sling threads back up in the Black Rifle forum. Some great info in those. ;)

I think the metal adjuster BGF slings are no longer made by manufacturer, really don't see the benefit for the higher price ... perhaps they just weren't selling well.

You have HK hooks in stock but not mash hooks which would be the preference of most all buyers, an attachment method is a must.

So you will have a lot of slings with mash hooks out of stock right?

Metal adjuster slings are still being made.

We've sold over 20,000 VCAS slings since they started being made. Probably 12,000 of those have been metal adjuster.

Item sell out even though we'd like to keep the flow steady.

MASH hooks, HK Hooks, RED Swivels, Side Swivels, Push Buttons, LMAC's, pouches and many other items are in this shipment.

I have an original unpadded Vickers sling with the aluminum slider I bought in 2006; I still run it on rifles at work and range toys at home. Hands down one of the most versatile 2 point slings if not the most versatile.

Good to hear about the coming availability, especially mash hooks as well. BFG made mash hooks apparently are discontinued for some reason and the metal-adjuster version was listed on a major US retailer site as no longer supplied.

Now should I buy a padded or non-padded? Will not be carrying a restricted rifle so perhaps the padded might be an unnecessary encumbrance or would it just be a better choice?
