Why you don't go hunting with too many people

If that does not justify HG in the bush, I don’t know what will ever justify HG hunting or self defense.

You need self defense from a boar and you think a handgun would solve that? lol

I am just suprised he never shot any of his friends

I saw a clip of a similar hunt but it was a charging wounded lion, they had rifles no HG. but when the lion charged the hunting party it looked like they were shooting everywhere just like the boar video. There must be a saint that looks after not so smart hunters LOL.

I watched the clip a couple of times in slow motion, and I think the fellow who falls gets a shot off with his rifle, and I think he is not in the line of fire from the pistol shooter. It sounds like the last shot fired is a rifle shot, and the other rifleman is out of position when the shot sounds.

Cereal - Whats your plan to deal with a charging bull moose - a rifle with a scope set at 12X?

My plan is to shoot it when my scope is at 3x since I only have a 3-9x40 on my 30-06.

This video certainly shows how s**t can happen really fast, and how a handgun is much better than a rifle is some situations. The positioning of the hunters is a straight line relative to the boar basically meant the primary shooter (who never got a round off that I can tell) had little or no backup from the others because their line of fire was blocked by the first shooter, which resulted in all the scrambling and possibly unsafe angles as a result when the boar charged. It's hard to judge what it looked like from the handgun shooters angle but as far as I can tell all his shots were at a safe angle realtive to the falling shooter - i'll bet his front sight was full of boar at the start- and the falling rifle shooter managed to control his rifle even while tumbling.

So i think the pistol shooter managed to save the other two's bacon (did I just write that  ).

Oh boy you'd better use open sight while facing a charging boar that close instead of trying to figure out where your scope is at. As I said a Britney spear might be handier!:dancingbanana:

Now, if only some of those game farms in southern ON would let their boars loose and establish themselves..... I guess that I'd be hunting woodcock with a Brenneke slug in the second barrel....

the last rifleman fired a shot as he tripped due to improper trigger control. You can see the pistol guy turn his head as the shot went off, suprised.

The pistol guy had a somewhat clear shot at the pig.. his friend was atleast five feet and quite possibly more to the right of the pig.

Granted under normal circumstances I would not take that shot but that pig was about to gore his friend!

** oh and on my rifle I can use the irons with the scope attatched.. kind of handy **
