So I have a Savage model 12 in .223. I am very pleased with the rifle and its accuracy. Unfortunately in the field I find it a bit to heavy and would like it to be a little lighter as to be more responsive. Would there be any significant weight advantage in going with a drop in synthetic stock as opposed to the laminated stock it comes with? If yes how much and where could I order one (preferably from a site sponsor)? Appreciate the advice, thanks.

mystic precision can get you one in savage.
i believe you have a bull barrel in mod 12 223 and that is the most weight you will come across. Synthetic is ofcourse lighter then your normal laminated unless you buy benchrest or tactical style stocks will sometimes weight more than yours.
Boyds Field stocks are cheap and light.
