Wife needs a pistol...I Need help

Wife shoots a Browning Hi-Power Practical. She loves it with 115 grain all the way up to 142 grain 9mm. In $700-$900 range used.

Very comfortable with Pachymar grips stock, not too heavy, but with enough weight to absore some of that recoil.

Damn fine looking pistol too.

You stole my gun! :p hehe just kidding. Beaut eh? :dancingbanana:

I wouldn't recommand a HP with that grip for peopel with small hands (esp. woman), I've handled one and it was way to big for my hand and 92FS fits me right...

Take her to your local dealer and have her try a Walther P99/S&W P99 in 9mm. My wife has small hands and with it's different sized backstraps fits her the best of pistols. It only weighs 25 oz. Good luck in your search.
I agree....x2

A HP feels bigger then a 92? Must be subjective, I find the 92 a much bigger clunkier feeling gun then a BHP, mind you if you have the pachmyr grips rather then the plastic or wood, they do feel bigger then otherwise. It's pretty hard to beat the M&P in 9 with the exchangeable backstraps for hand fitting, but the XD in 9 is really nice as well. I find the glock 17's really blocky feeling, and my wife can't reach the trigger on them if she has a proper grip :(

yeah, I've got one of them, they do feel bigger then other hp's but still not as big as a berretta, but thats just me maybe.....

Nothing against berreta's, they're great pistols, they just don't like my hands, mind you, they're still miles ahead of glocks....but what isn't when it comes to ergonomics

Is this a current production pistol?
I don't recall seeing this two-tone model on Browning's website.
It looks mighty sharp!
