I've been looking at S&Ws in 460..if I'm going big I might as well go really big.. Although my buddy has a 44 mag super blackhawk hunter in stainless hed let go. I bet that would shoot some stout loads!
I'm a sheetmetal worker by trade so I have big forearms and large mitts..
That's why I'm asking about 357s as my felt recoil vs a small womens is completely at opposite ends of the scale. I also have a very strong grip due to squeezing snips 8 hours a days for the last 15 years.
Love shooting my .357's, buy any Smith (I like the 8 shot versions) or Ruger GP100 revolver, can't lose. If she doesn't like .357 magnums you can always shoot .38 specials or specials +p, great options to have for any user.
As far as the .460 goes, buy one, they are great, love the big boom, the flames, and the concussion. As well, you will be surprised that although they sound big, they shoot soft with the muzzle brake, IMHO. Your wife can shoot it with .45 colts or .454 Casulls if she doesn't want to go to .460. .45 colts are pussycats in that revolver.
