I am planning on building an AR 15 for my wife. This will be my second build. I want it light and with minimal recoil. I have some ideas, but I would like to hear some more recommendations to see if there is something I have overlooked.
She has MS and finds that concentrating on shooting helps her stability, however her physical endurance is minimal. She will be doing 99.9% of her shooting seated, firing off a table and bags.

What would you build?

Same as above indoor or outdoor use, if outdoors look at a 14.5 light weight barrel with a mid length gas system, a muzzle brake will assist as well as a Enidine buffer, Magpul MOE furniture, this should do nicely & decide on iron sights or optics...

Its an outdoor range.

As far as heavy with a bi-pod goes, I did consider going that route, but decided against it. She will want to be able to pick it up and carry it if she chooses to do so. I don't want to put a limitation on her before she even gets started. Her illness imposes enough already.

But keep the suggestions coming!

300 blackout instead of regular 223 maybe?

Mid length or rifle length gas system should produce less recoil compared to carbine length, to the best of my knowledge.

7.5 pdw with break and two sets of ear plugs, how about a s&w m&15 are or a converted .22 ar if recoil and weight are an issue.

Yeah. I went with mid length on the 16" I built for myself, its nice. I just am wondering how short I can get away with. Depending on where you look, mid can work down to 12.5 or you will open the gates off hell and negate life as we know it if you put it on anything less than 20". Thanks internet. LOL
She will want to stick with .223
