Were heading off in search of the Legendary Wild boars of Alberta in June and searching the Lac St Ann, Mayerthorpe areas....lots of rumours about them but can't seem to nail down anything solid so we might as well be chasing the Sasquatch. Anyway we will have a fun search with pork or not.

If anyone has any "Solid" info on them I would sure apreciate the info or invite to use land for hunting. I will share what we learn with those that share back. And if you're a landowner or know a land owner that can help us out I would be willing to trade info for trigger time behind some fine precision rifles!!;) or offer up hunting oportunities in my neck of the woods in trade.

All tips welcome!!:D

I seen a sow and 4 piglets standing in a stubble field last winter just south west of Rimbey last winter. A guy I work with also hunted them at Mayerthorpe last winter and got one.

Are you taking dogs to hunt with? I just got back from hog hunting with dogs in Hawaii and your odds of success will go up 100x. Of course they can't search the whole province for you..... ;)

Sorry to hijack the thread but, Catahoulas are a great dog for the sort of hunting your doing. Ran coyotes And racoons with mine in his day. They will apparently provoke the hog to chase it & keep it up until its penned or shot by you. Lots of videos on youtube etc.
