Looks like Saskatchewan high sightings Duck Mountain Park in the east and North Battleford in the west ???

On Google maps duck mountain park listed as closed. (covide?)

What part of the province are they in? myself and a few buddies are eager to help control them, however finding them and info on them is just as hard?
Can you provide any leads? etc. Thanks, nice shooting BTW. Cheers

Best thing to do is download the crown land app. Then google earth. Take a road trip and look for black corse hair on bottom barbed wire strands. Once u know your in pig country then look at google earth. Pigs really like cattails and walk creek beds. With this drought they won’t b far from water. Once the crops are harvested and more leaves on the ground it will get easier to find them. In the mean time, ask any friends or family and try narrow down a good area to start. Message me if u need a tip on crown land up this way. One thing I’ve found is 1 in maybe 10 or so land owners want the hogs and don’t want anyone else on their land. Make sure u talk to land owners before pursuing.

There is a regular poster here on CGN that describes sitting on tripods - at night - France or Germany, do not recall even specific decade - 1950's? 1960's?? - objective was to shoot enough of the Euro Wild Boar to keep the sounder out of that particular field. Not sure if still done - would be a horrendous cost of production, if that is still required to protect a crop in the field.

Hog control would be so much easier if we could lamp them of a night
But the anal retentive hunting laws aren’t
In ones favour

As for hunting them this time of year, get right into the big swamps
And find their wallowing mud holes.
They won’t be leaving them with all this hot weather

Could not find an "Imperial, Alberta" on google maps.ca - perhaps "Empress, Alberta"? Right on Sask border, pretty much exactly due East of Calgary - more or less on South Sask River valley?

Am in rm184, SK. According to the hog maps we should be overrun. No sign, no word from neighbors? Few miles from the valley, perhaps they're there?

Who knows, this is still strange country to me. Learning every year.

So appears u are just due north of Cowesses. So there is a tiny bit I.R. on north 'shore' Que Appelle River Valley?
Then due north lots farmerland at least until Melville and west at least to Lebret ??

I vaguely remember an abandoned town of Hyde. But river flooding may have decimated what remains of Hyde. I think I seen a commemorative bronze plaque once near the old townsite.
Seems I remember most the trees/bush cover was in the coolees and streambanks.

Edit: Que Appelle River Valley is much like Alberta foothills. Sometimes black bear, sometimes elk too.
At least in 1997 that is.

Last night walk about
Why the Fck can’t I go out of a night
And lamp these things
