A funny thing happened today. I was out scouting clearing shooting lanes and such, on my way out of the bush I flushed a critter out of the tall grasses. At first i thought it was a rabbit, then a groundhog but it was grunting then I saw it it was a baby pig!!! I tried to get my camera but he was fast , those things can motor hehehe....Anyway has anyone seen wild pigs in southern Ontario or do you think this thing was domestic and ran away from home?

wild boar

There was an accidental escape near Russell (south east-ish of Ottawa) last winter. The farmer's fence was damaged in the heavy snow. He's tried. The OPP has tried. The MNR has tried. No one has been able to kill or round up the beggars. So, until they get hit by cars or die in the winter, they are considered non-native and non-game animals. Kill as many as you can, before they get established.

they won't die in the winter, here in MB it goes down to -40 and the lil beggars are still around, Co's will swear they be gone , but all ya gotta do is go to various areas in the provincial forests and you will find them , darn near indestructible they are :) But sure are fun hunting :dancingbanana:
