I heard on the radio this morning that 64 rural municipalities in Saskatchewan have stated that they have a wild bore problem. Anyone know how to find out which RMs have pigs?

we're goin lookin for then when it warms, in April, i'didn't know there was enough of them to be causing problems.

I've heard rumors for years, but nobody can actually put you on the trail of the buggers.
I'll do some searching.

I heard that they are a problem around Melfort. Talking to a farmer from that area he said you could't even repair fences unless you had a quad to escape the buggers. I'm sure if you called the RM up there they would let you know if this is true or not.

I fired off an email to SARM (Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities) requesting a list of RM's affected, as well as contact information.

"Wild Pigs in Sask"? hell...........we have wild pigs right here in beautiful B.C.!

Just last night they had one hell of a loud house party with all the screaming and hollering that you can imagine. When we looked out the window to see what all the fussing was about, to our amazement there was a fairly attractive (from what I could see) young gal with her drawers down round her angles, squating down on her haunches defecating on my lawn. I turned on the front porch light, opened up the door and gave her a holler. She pulled up her gear (if she was finished or not, I did not care to know) and off she ran. Felt like sicking the dogs on her. Anyway, if ya`ll are looking to hunt wild pigs, c`mon up to Surrey, B.C and have at `er. Guess it`s open season anytime?;)

I know of one area in Sask that is supposed to have an issue with feral pigs. I hate heresay so I'm going to go check it out this spring or summer. I'll report back if there are NO pigs.

I have heard of some escaped wild boar that are in the Moose Mtn Prov Park and surrounding forest and farmland. I don't know anyone down there to confirm it though.

Check zone 67,53,49 and 43. Try the RM for Arborfield. They might know something. Maybe Big River too. They used to be around both places. Don't know about Big River country any more, but they are still around Arborfield. I live in LaRonge, and found a dead boar (roadkill??) in the ditch snowmobiling last winter. Serm figures someone brought it home and a dog stole it. (but never ate any?!?) Who knows, pretty weird though. Check Arborfield and surrounding communities. There is always tracks when we are out hunting in the fall. Good place to start your search.

I have had the fortune to shoot a couple of dozen of them. There are a few in the Kamsack area. There are literally herds of them in the Moose Mountain area and the farmers around there will practically beg you to shoot them. There were a few in the Arborfield area, but they are very scarce now as the locals have really let them have it.

Check out the Kenosee lake area north of Carlyle, I have a couple of buddies that live in Estevan and have gone to shoot hogs in that RM.

Dave K has it right. Kenosse is 1/2 north of me and i know for a fact that people go on hunts, as a welder that i had was one who was on a group hunt. Contact the office of the Village of Kenosee, and they would be able to help you out im sure.306 577-2139. The village is in a provincial park, so no hunting there ,but its open season outside park boundaries.
