Wild turkey hen.....near north bay

Just curious as to how these are a nuisance??? What are they doing???

I'm from around Gravenhurst, usually the problem I've seen with them is that they tend to crowd together and cross the roads. Back roads, or 169 they don't care and they can cause some real damage depending on what you're driving . On multiple occasions I've seen groups of more than 50 at a time. They've been in that region well over a decade.

So have I been in Callander for years Adrian...in the bush 360 days a year. 1 in 21 yrs, till this year....But I have heard of odd sightings. I think the hen is nesting, she shows up mid day, eats quickly and disappears.Heres hoping. Jim

That's nesting behaviour for sure Jim.... If they take off there like they took off here, you should have a decent population in a few years.....

You know what would happen if mother was still around and there was a open season while turkey were at the feeder in the back yard. Memories?

I've got a 100 acre camp just off 17 outside of mattawa it would be nice to be able to get a turkey in the next few years

There was a Tom hanging around a property I used to hunt 15 minutes east of Mattawa. He was there for about a year and a half. I saw him often while scouting during goose hunting season. I would think where there is one there are more?
