Hi!
I was watching an old one , last night, Sudden Impact with Clint Eastwood, and in that movie ,he used a Wildley .44, Anyone on Cnd Nutz had the chance to used one or owned one? How does it shoot? What can be the value of such a piece?? I know that Desert eagle are more affordable, but the grips seem so much compare to a Wildley.

I haven't shot one, but I have handled one and the DE seems like a compact in comparison. The damned things are HUGE. As I remember they are also very expensive (this was some time ago).
PS good luck getting parts if something goes south.

The Automag isn't made anymore. Hasn't been for years. Original's run between $2600 to $4500Cdn. It doesn't use S&W .44 Mag ammo either. It uses .44 Automag ammo. A .308Win case cut down to 1.3".

It's not actually a Wildey in Sudden Impact, it's an Automag. The Wildey was a different pistol. They're both powerful gas operated semi autos--I find the Automag to be much better looking of the two.

24 years ago when Sudden Impact came it out, it created an interest in large autoloaders. The AutoMag that Clint used was a pretty sweet piece of kit. A high quality pistol that used the .44 AutoMag round. There was also the Wildey pistol had several loadings including up to a Wildey .475 custom round. I also remember the LAR Grizzly that was chambered in .45 Win Mag. Then of course every pimp's favourite gun, the Desert Eagle appeared on the seen in .44 and .375. Those were interesting days.

As he said they are different guns.

A friend has a .44 Automag, and I know another fellow who has several.

The Wildey is a huge gun. I dam* near dropped the one I shot as I couldn't get a descent grip on the beast.
