Accomodation on the estate,car,shooting----but you pay for our beer at the end of the day :idea:

We don't eat Haggis for breakfast over there, we do however sometimes eat 'Grouse' for breakfast-----BUT only with those of us that can hit them

Got a hunch that you are a better hunter than that, I'm sure you'll let him go, further the gene pool etc.
If you get a chance, try to read "Grouse of the North Shore" by Robert Gullion, (SP?) it documents the change in the evasive procedures of grouse in the last few decades, they are getting smarter. Also excellent photos.

Well I've had similar exp and I've made three four passes at a one grouse in one particular area which it won't leave because of the terrain and food/water sources nearby which seems to enjoy playing keep away. Don't know if I'd enjoy having more of the same next year if I had the opportunity. Think a good dog(s) and focus (a little luck) would do the trick.
