Will 180 grain ammo hurt my M-14??

I had the same question. I was told it wont if you only do it rarely.

Try to get 155 or 168 grain. Please correct me if I am wrong. I still didn't shot 180 grain i have becuase of fair of failure.

I typed "180 grain" in the "search this forum" tool at the top of the page and came up with 3 pages of threads on this very subject. It seems to come up often.

I recall reading an article in the NRA's "Shooting Sports USA" magazine years ago where the author says 180 grain would be the max bullet weight to use in an m-14 in his opinion.

I would think that proper powder selection/pressure curve would be just (if not more) critical.

You should use the Sadlak grooved piston. I bought mine from Fabsports.
