I'm interested in an AR 15 in the M4 configuration, will an Atchisson Mark II AR 15 conversion kit work in that gun? I'm not yet sure what brand of AR I will get. Thanks.

You would be better off with a norinco or an old colt if you are planning to use a conversion kit. They have 1-12 rifling. Standard 22 LR has 1 in 14

Most newer models have 1-7 to 1-9 in order to stabilize heavier bullets. Diameter of the 22 is 223. The Ar is designed to function best with a 224 bullet.

I have a colt conversion. Accuracy that I get with Iron sights is about 2 inches at 25 yards. Slightly worse than what I can do with 223 bullets but more than good enough for practice for 3 gun style shooting.

I find that my conversion works well when temperatures are mild
I suspect that as the brass gets colder the rims become harder and are more difficult to crush by the firing pin. My ruger works well till about the freezing point. My bolt action 22 I think that I would suffer from hypothermia before it would fail.

It makes a decent plicker grade rifle.

That's what I'm getting, Questar are bring them in this June. I got the conversion kit earlier, but will probably just resell it.

Yep..some of the kits come rough around the edges,a little polishing and they run good
explain please? I just picked up one from a cgn'r. It fits on his rifle, but it sticks out 1 mm or so on mine, so it doesn't mate properly. If I take out the buffer and spring, and force the halves together and force the pin in, then it'll fit. However...racking the slide, the bolt is sticky, and won't extract.

should I be polishing the front end to take off 1 mm?
