Will Breda receiver fit US M1 Garand?

There's a certain cachet that comes with the Winchester label. Ditto for WRA made M1 Carbines. At the end of the day WRA Garands did pass QC checks by govt inspectors before being accepted for service.

I've had great joy working on Beretta and Breda receivers. All super predictable outcomes... unlike a couple of Winnies I rebarreled with Douglas Hvy Barrel NM tubes. Man were those receivers ever annoying.

My current and most favorite M1 Beretta receiver build:

And the other side...

Those of you laminated stock fans, that's a DuPage stock from California. It's a long story!

Enjoy the Garand addiction!

Nice laminate Barney. I have more than a few long stories as well when it comes to sourcing Garand parts. It makes each build just that much more exciting. How's that song go, It's not the kill, it's the thrill of the chase?

As for the op, I have barreled up many Breda and Beretta receivers with excellent results. You will still have an excellent Garand rifle that will last you a lifetime.

I'd certainly recommend a Breda or Beretta receiver as the basis for a solid shooter class Garand. They were made without the pressure of wartime production to a high quality line and were comparatively lightly used and well maintained in service.
