Will Deer Eat Pumpkin?

In Soviet Russia, pumpkin eats deer!

Yea they'll eat it. Try smashing it up a good ways while trying to keep your scent off it as much as possible. Turnip is cheap and good this time of year too.

Still nothing beats good o'l apples.

When I lived in N.S. Carrots with a can of apple juiceworked like you wouldent beleave less bears too.

I used to use pumpkins for target practice. They are about the right size for the deer kill zone. I don't have to clean up the mess, the deer will.

Nice! Thanks for the quick replies.

Looks like i'll be on the hunt for pumpkins in a few days!

Just baited my trails with apples, under a tree they eat from all fall.
made up some scraped as well.

I am noticing old trails coming new again as the deer move into the rutting spots.

I put a stand on the edge of a cutover to try out my new vx-III this season.
Now an old trail shows frequent use 20 yards out!
If the 4" hoof prints would only start re appearing...
Things are looking better and better.

I don't know about deer, but Moose sure do. This guy got both my jack-o-lanterns last Halloween, right off the porch.
