You'd think we would have full autos by now since, as wendy pointed out, Harper is backed by powerful gun lobbies.

The CFC says "Once a machinegun, always a machinegun" as a reason not to be able to make new C/A . So, if it is true that "Once a machinegun, always a machinegun" then we owners of C/As should have the RIGHT to own F/As too right?

Why stop there. I own a sks which somone took a few and made a gatling style machine gun. Wouldn't tha make me eligible for F/A?

One thing i don't understand, why is the cap limit for long arms lower than hand guns, when apparently the liberals say handguns are the evil ones!

From the book the Justice Dept. produced at the time, it was because you only need 5 rounds for hunting. A lot of the prohibited handguns like the Uzi are limited to 5 rounds too. You get 10 rounds for handguns that can be "legitimately used in sport shooting".

Someone never realised that centrefire semi-auto rifles are used for target shooting too.
