I know it’s a strange question, and I’ve posted a bunch of other Spotting Scope questions, but this is the last before I pull the trigger. I’ve had four in the running Vortex Razor HD 65 & 85 and the Kowa 663 & 773. I want angled eye piece, LER and Zoom options. I may or may not want a reticle in the future, but not now, and i’m not convinvpced i can scrape enough $ for the Kowa 773 with both eye piece.

I seem to have painted myself into the Vortex.

Will I be disappointed in the Vortex Razor HD 85?
Has anyone had a bad experience with one?

A good way to avoid disappointment is to maintain low expectations. (This is a general guideline, I have never looked through any Vortex optic.)

Have had Vortex Razor HD85 for several years mostly for bird watching when we had the opportunity to compare it with other scopes mostly Kowa at twice the price. You get what you pay for and Kowa seemed marginally better but hard to go for the price and more limited warranty. It has been good for us and we haven’t had to test their warranty but our son did with higher end Vortex binoculars and they gave him a new pair. Price point is good and we are biased as we have 2 razor and one Viper sets of binoculars. Works well on the range with a phone adapter as well!
Check with site sponsors or Pelee Wings price and availability wise.

Thanks Geoman, I’ve talk to Pelee a couple of times already; good folk for sure.
