Hi folk anybody have any experience mounting the NOVERSKE KX3 flaming pig to 9mm PCC?

I have a spare brand new Noverke KX3 (5.56mm, 1x28 thread)

Recently I got a GHM9 and the KX3 looks really great on it.

The internal KX3 cone is around 10mm so I wonder if anyone tried the muzzle device on the 9mm PCC?

I contacted the Noverke and out of 2 technician I talked, one is saying "Not enough test on 9mm so not sure", one told me "Many people run the KX3 on their 9mm PCC so there should be no problem at all"

So my fellow gunnutz anyone tried the device on your 9mm PCC and do you guys have any issues?

I have one brand new in the box that I have never used, because when I ordred it years ago from a Canadian supplier I didnt actaully get it for over 6 months. So I ended up using something else

So I have never mounted it on a 9mm, but I am going to say it will work, because I just dissasembled it and the measured the inner diamter of the baffle and I got 10.03mm with my calipers

And a few years ago when I was assembling my 9mm PCC, I moddifed a 5.56 caliber muzzle brake to fit the 9mm PCC by having my lathe guy turn the inner diameter larger to allow the 9mm projectile to pass through it. I dont remember what source I used to determine the bore size required, but I did research on what the minimum clearance needs to be. I just measured that muzzle brake that I moddified, and the bore is only 9.6mm so its even tigther then the 10.03mm of the KX3 and I have at least 1000 rounds through it with no problems

I have another 9mm specific muzzle device here, and I measured that and its 9.75 mm at the smallest inner diameter, so again still even tigher then the inside of the KX3

Usually it's 20 thou over the bore diameter for clearance. The Pigs are effective for moving the muzzle blast forward on stuff like the 5.56, but on a 9mm PCC you'd pretty much just be adding muzzle weight to tame down some dot bounce . Just a note that it will carbon up a lot more with it being a 9mm carbine so make sure that you keep an eye on it so the bullet doesn't make contact when it fowls up, which it will.

Nice info mate, thanks!

There are other non Noveske branded ones that are designed to fit and work with 9mm, like the one shown below. They come in both the KX3, and KX5 OD's
