I found this used Remington 1100, in .410 caliber. On the receiver it says "for .410 3 inch plastic shotshells only. If I were to buy it, it would be strictly for use as a skeet gun. By rule, .410 skeet loads are limited to ½ oz. of shot and 1200 fps and they come in 2½ inch shells. That is a lot less than the 11/16 oz. of a 3 inch shotshell.
While I am sure that the gun will safely shoot the shorter shells, I wonder whether the action will cycle properly with the lighter load. The seller does not know, and he is several hours away from my home. Can someone enlighten me?
