hi, this is my first post so bear with me. i have a norc sig 228 copy and wanted to know if a sig 226 slide would fit on it? i did the net/gunnutz search but could not find an answer. thanks in advance

The locking block is different for the short frames, the 229 slide will not function on 226 frame without changing the locking block. The Nork and Sig slides for the 226 do interchange.

The NP22 frame is compatible with the P226 slide. I wouldn't put it on the NP34(I think that's the one) frame. The NP34 isn't really a proper copy of the P228 anyway.

I suppose that I have to ask, why?

Scott

IIRC someone here did use a Norc frame since he had one of the documented early P226s with frame problems where the slide rail cracked.

I certainly think that you would be courting trouble (destroying the gun, injury) by trying it with live ammo.

As others have said, there is no problem to swap 226 parts into the 226-clone (NP-22), and 228 parts into the the 228-clone (NP-34), but to swap across the full-size/compact divide. Don't do it. As another person has suggested, I don't think it will lock up properly.

well the reason i was wanted to see if it would swap is that a guy has complete sig 226 copy uppers for sale on parts for $80, i believe he said they were not norinco when he emailed me, made me curious, guess i have to get a np22 when one arrives in this country.....thanks for the advice guys

NP22 is available in Canada. Check with any number of our Norinco stocked sponsoring dealers above (Marstar, Frontier, etc etc)

As for SIG 226 copy slide and parts....I can't see the reason for swapping a copy slide unit for another copy slide....

Note...make sure you are not buying something referred to as a P226 copy made by Dlask, as it is not a copy of the P226 but rather the P228. Dlask made a parts kit version of the P228 and much of it required lots of fitting.

yeah i phoned all the shops (marstar, frontier, etc) and did a heck of a lot of looking for a np22 but no one i talked to had one in stock. I went with the np34 form marstar and it is a great gun, comparable to any higher end pistols i have.

If it's $80, there's no way it's a complete real Sig upper (unless the seller is an idiot).
