Will the price of ammo drop?

Does anyone have insight on this? Should one be buying now for surplus or wait a year?

My guess - and it's just a guess - is that it's not going to get any cheaper in the next few years. I've seen Czech surplus 1120 rounds/$199 here in Edmonton, and I think it's time to stock up. I don't think it's going to be coming in for less than that any time soon. Even if it does, it's still a good price for ammo you can shoot in a cheap, durable east bloc rifle. IMHO.

Do what I did. Bought 50 or so .50 ammo cans just out of university a decade or so ago and have been filling them ever since. Ammo I bought for $10 a box now goes for $30.

Just last week I had to go to Princess Auto to buy 10 more ammo cans, filling those ten up will probably cost the same as the original 50 did.

Ammo won't go down, and you can never have enough.
