Im wanting to buy a black rifle that can be used for coyote hunting. Since the AR isnt permitted for that I thought this would be a good substitute.
I've been reading lots on them and it seems its a mixed field of a 50 50 good and bad reports. I was thinking Benelli MR1 but I wanted something more.
I also wanted a heavier barrel like the AR and I see on Wolverine Supplies is doesn't list the .223 as a light contour or heavy contour. I sent them an email yesterday but I haven't heard back from them yet.

Does anyone have any experience with these rifles for accuracy and reliability?

Thanks!

I have over 500rds through mine now (5.56/.223), all surplus. Not one FTF/FTE. Every AR owner I have let shoot it, loves the ergonomics of it. Obviously the NR status is a huge plus.

I put a Tac30 1x-4 on it (some do not like the reticule) and I am hitting 2-3 MOA at 100y. Now, that may not seem like the best accuracy for some, but I am still learning the nuances of the rifle and scope combo, and that is with surplus. 8" plate at 200Y in blowing snow also possible. :D

I have a heavy barrel version in .223. works just dandy for dogs within 300 meter mark.
24.5 gr of imr4064 pushing a 65gr nosler works just fine. i haven't chrono'd the loads, but they were ending up around 1-1.5 @ 100. took some work on my end to get them there, but they shoot nice. That was with a fixed 10x sightron.
Rifle now wears a trij acog. the fast stock is preferred with winter gear, and make sure you get a nice sling with the rifle. vickers is by far my fav. after a bipod, optics and heavy barrel, you will find that the sling makes all the difference.

edit: i have the second gen with improved trigger. everyone who shoots it remarks how the nice it is for a semi rifle.

+1 Ditto!

Is yours a new version or older version. Heavy barrel or light contour? Id prefer the heavy if I could get it.

Serial number 7004 making it Revision G (not the newest, but within the newer generation of rifles that have been problem-free). The barrel measures 3/4" in Ø.

Round count is about 2,000 with not one single failure of any kind.
