Will trade my Trojan - but what for ?

Used to have a CZ 85 combat and really liked how accurate these guns are. Also had the kadet kit so it was great for training also. Too bad at the time I was not that good a shooter. Now, I'm good enough to beat Salmon :p on score and I find the STI suits me better. (Too bad Salmon, the cat's out of the bag ! hahahaha !)

The thing is, I am a fan of 1911 and always will be.
 
If you want to compete (or compare) with S&W 952's and Sig X-Five... There are that many option available to you. And they will all be on the pricey side.

1. Sig 210. Probably as good as it gets as far as "target" grade 9mm are concerned. Be warned that getting a few extra magazines will probably set you back as much as buying a G17.

2. PPC9, I had the chance to try a friend's gun... and they are pretty darn nice!

3. If you don't mind searching for a while... HK P9S

4. If you like the 1911 plateform, the RangeMaster and TargetMaster should do the trick...

Then again, unless you friends are "excellent" shooters, you should be able to keep up with them (and beat them) using your Trojan (and a little more practice). But I can understand your situation... It's a pretty good excuse to shop around for a new toy :D

Any reason is good as long as I get to try (and buy!) new guns.

That's a great selection. From what I have read, Sigs 210 are no longer available ? Isn't it ? It looks great and must be a steady performer. Man, a world of discoveries !

My pic is still the Target master. I wonder if the Chrome option from STI is any good ? Could it stand the abuse from a few hundred shots a week ?

The chrome can handle a few thousand shots a week.
