Will Wal-mart be selling guns here with the registry gone?

We have a few Canadian Tire stores in Ontario already selling guns again, hopefully more will get back into it...

We NEED Canadian Tire, Walmart and ALL the likes selling guns. It's too limited where we can buy right now, and half the time we can't even get the ones we want (from the likes of Lebaron etc)

To the OP:

NO.

As a long-time former employee, I had a frank discussion with my store manager, and he said they'd never sell firearms, even mentioned that ammo is more of a "courtesy" sale to customers. Both have really slim margins.

They do in the US, so why not here? The Walmart here sold firearms when it first opened...

Under the new proposed system should the registry be abolished all who sell a firearm be it a dealer or private individual will be required to keep a record for life of all gun sales. So that means if you sell a firearm for example on the EE here you will be required to keep a record of that sale for the rest of your life, with all the pertinent information of the buyer readily available should the gov't or police wish to review said information etc. Sound like fun yet?

Thats how it was "back in the day" and it isn't that bad.....

a qustion came to mind: I they ever sold firearms would they need to be certified (RPAL)? A guy once told me that in order to sale firearms in a store he needed to have his RPAL eventhough he was only selling long guns...

The real question is would Walmart want to? By starting to sell guns, they run the risk of bad publicity when anti-gunners protest or the news runs a "shocking" headline about walmart's new "American style" policy.

I Believe that Wallmart and Crap tire will be there like dirty shirts. No way will they turn down the opportunity to make an extra buck.

back in 96 when wal-mart stopped selling long guns they sold off all there stock. My best buddy at the time went in and picked up a winchester pump (i think it was a 1200) for 19.99. Apparently they marked it down a little to far(forgot a 9 on the price gun or something) anyways after 20 mins of arguing with the manager he walked out with a brand new Winchester 12 ga pump gun for the princely sum of 19.99 plus taxes. :)

Some Canadian Tire's already sell guns. I doubt the scrapping of the registry will cause more to do so. I seriously doubt that Canadian Walmarts will get into the gun business either.
