Trying to get my fall hunting rifle ready, I have ordered a 300 win mag with rails that needs a scope and I have a VX1 laying around with weaver brand low rings on it. Will these rings hold up the recoil of 300wm? If not any budget ring recommendations.

Good simple rings. But they take some technique to counter the tilt of the scope when you tighten the screws... plus they can pinch you tube if you over torque.

I used to have them on most of my rifles but I drank the talley koolaid lol. I got quite good at installing them and could center the reticles every time. While they don't appear stout, they are . I have moved on to other brands but, the weavers never let me down or gave me problems.

If you want to use Weaver, get a set of Weaver Tacticals. Only $50-60 and worth the savings in stress. I've used these over the years, but as has been stated, they tilt the scope. You have to start with the scope off center, and as you tighten these will twist the scope to on line. The problem comes in because you have to hope the scope is level at exactly the same point that the screws are at the proper torque. Too little cant and your crosshairs will move to far. Too much can't and they are off level in the other direction. Last pair of these I used, I tightened, untightened about 4 times trying to get the crosshairs level. Then one of the screws stripped out, so I garbaged the set, and put on some Weaver Tacticals

Will they work yes? Are they worse the frustration of having the scope turn as you tighten the screws, no! There are much more user friendly rings for a similar price. Even the Weaver Grand Slam rings are a better product for the price.
