Hi all. Has anyone successfully used a Williams FP 94/336 rear sight on a
pre-'64 winchester 30-30, and had the original front sight height turn out to be useable?
The Williams website doesnt really mention compatability with the front sight.
One customer review on one of the large online retailers site claimed that the
rear sight ended up being too high, and the elevation ran out of adjustment, causing the rifle to shoot quite high at the lowest setting at 100 yards. That was only one review though, and there could have been other factors.
PS Mine is a 1954, top eject, and appears to be already drilled/tapped in the receiver for mounting this sight. I know I can get a firesight for the front that
would likely work if the existing front sight does not, but probably wouldnt bother if i didnt have to. Williams doesnt have an e-mail address! Hoping someone here can answer my question and save me a call.
