Anyone know where to get them (in Canada)? How difficult are they to install - do they just bolt onto the scope-mounting holes?

Depends on what gun.
Some use existing holes, some require a drill and tap.

Most of the mail order places carry them but the more unusual models will have to be ordered at your local store.

Difficulty to mount depends on what- I have two different williams models that clamp onto the grooves of .22 reciever. Piece of cake. Another uses the pre-drilled holes on a win 94. Easy. On a BLR I think my brother had to get it drilled and tapped. Some bolt actions have the holes pre drilled on the side of the reciever, but may need the stock cut away to fit the body of the sight. SIR Winnipeg always stocked them in the past.

I'm looking for that exact same kit on my marlin 336. Do I need to buy front sights also? Can I use the existing front one? Also, I read somewhere that your can unscrew the peep and then it becomes lie a ghost ring, is that true?. Amphibious, do you know if the FP36 is the same as FP 336?

I'm going to pimp up my little marlin with one of those and maybe put a decent pad on it instead of the plastic one already there.

Went on the williams site but info is quite scarce.

Thanks for any help.

pilot, the fp336 bolts on to the rear scope mount holes on the top of the receiver of a Marlin. The fp 94/36 bolts on to holes in the left side of the receiver of Marlins and Winchester 94s. I notice that new Marlins do not have holes in the side of the receiver, just top scope mount holes. Some rifles will have both, and old ones only on the side.

My 336 only has holes on the side, and a dovetail front sight that (I assume) can be drifted out in my shop press. It sounds like the FP36/94 is what I'm after, for this one.

But I'm more interested in getting one mounted to my .500 HandiRifle. It hasn't come in yet, so I don't know if/where the mounting hole are, and how they're spaced. I'm hoping I can use the FP336 on it. I'd rather not have to tap holes in it.

prosper I don't think the FP336 would be a match for our handi rifle. They're made for Marlins.

But, there's also a generic one that fits on Weaver style scope bases. Assuming your handirifle is drilled and tapped, just get a rear Weaver base installed, the Williams sight designed to fit on that and Bob's your uncle....

Anybody knows which one of their products I should get for my Marlin 981T? I called Williams and they suggested WGRS54, which looks nice and solid. But the gent also suggested that I might not be able to install the front sight on just one screw tight enough or that it might stick in front of the barrel. Looking for help!
