We just got confirmation that all Wilson Compact models that offer a 4" barrel can be ordered with a 4.2" barrel on the existing slide. They will protrude .2" an inch out side of the frame similar to that of the Kimber Carry models built exclusively for the Canadian Market a few years back.

Some of the models now available:

Ultralight Carry Compact

PM me if you have any questions on Wilson pricing or upgrade options on any of the Wilson line of pistols...

Not a fan of extended barrels !! I rather get a Nighthawk T3 , Costa or Ladyhawk whenever the funds permits it .

I like them. For those of us that appreciate quality in manufacturing and workmanship they're worth every penny. I know I'm not alone because it will take you anywhere from 6-12+ months to special order one to your specs. All this applies for the other top shelf 1911 shops as well. Just my $0.02.....:)

Looks like that Carry Elite Professional might be a bit muzzle heavy with an extended barrel...I wonder if they intend to lengthen the slide instead of having a huge hunk of metal for an extended barrel?

Those are extremely ###y but also extremely expensive. I can't believe they want 3K for em. $1000? absolutely.

I know a lot of guys remain perplexed why these guns command high premiums compare to other 1911s. Having had some of my own 1911s built by gunsmiths who focus on this gun exclusively, it's pretty easy to see why.

Go buy a regular quality 1911 frame, or maybe even a higher quality frame, slide, buy a good trigger, spring, top of the line grips, better hammer, screws, sights and look for the best of everything. Then you'll have to test fire it based on the type of ammo you want to use; target or +P loads (for you PPC guys) and see what needs to be tweaked. This process takes weeks of course. But at the end of the project you'll easily drop $1.5-3k into what should be a pretty decent 1911.

Or you can just buy a Wilson Combat. It's really up to you.

Top kudos for bringing these in.

Correct me if Iam wrong but that is the american version in the photo and the 4.2 barrel would stick out further?

Those are all american version , not the actual pistol with the extended barrel . It ll stick out more except maybe for the elite one wich i think is 4,15 so it should meet canadian standards .

Seems the protubing barrel bother many guys. The Ed Brown carry pistols are all 4.25" so I believe their slide are longer and are conform to our regulations. Ed Brown is where I spent my money and I'd do it again. They're different, Wilson is more tacticool and Ed Brown more classic.

These guns really need to be seen to be understood - there is nothing even slightly out of place on them, edges are clean and crisp, finish is even and flawless, slides move with an amazing smoothness. Everything is just perfect, every detail is amazingly precise, if any guns could be considered art, these are. Some guns are OK, some are very good, but every Wilson (and Ed Brown for that matter) I've ever handled has been perfect.

This was copied directly from the website...regarding the Elite Professional. Personally I don't usually mind extended barrels (I own a Pro Carry II), but I can't stop thinking it would be fugly on that model.
