Last month got my first crack at a Wilson shotgun border patrol ( member at the club got an OD green one ), now i did post previously that you dont need one when you have Benelli's, now i was dead wrong, i admit.... Since i own my M4's nothing have came close in performance, finish, balance, smoothnest of action but know i have to say that this Wilson is very close to the M4 in all those dept except rapidity of fire which is untouchable... Seriously thinking that it would be a nice addition to my M4'S, this is one of those thing you realize and the only cure is buying one.... Total addiction... JP.

Caramel for what you are getting the WC is way overpriced. Someone like Casey at Tac ord or Simon at oneshot tactical can take an older wingmaster can make you an as good or better gun for less money. Just my opinion.
 
You may be right but never in my life did i shoot such a smooth and well balanced PA and the sights are... Wow, wonder how much money you would have to invest to get the same result... JP
 
I've had a Border Patrol for years. I actually bought mine from the original Scattergun Technologies. It is without question the smoothest handling pump shotgun I ever owned or tried. Ultra reliable as well.
 
What's the price tag on one of these? Round 1500? Like Xenasdad said...you could get a HELL of a nice PA for kind of money!

Does wilson still to the refurbishing thing. I seem to remember that they would take your old shotgun and pimp it out for you, even that rout might be cheaper?
 
I does handle as good as the M4, (did not tried any other Benelli) , that is something all ready and all i can say about the sights, they could be equal or ahead of the M4, very impress by this shotgun, one is coming home to daddy for sure... A green one... JP.

The smooth feel is just some polishing. The sights are an off the shelf part that any gunsmith can install. The rest is just paint to make it pretty. The balance you like will be exactly the same with standard 870's - there is no magic weight change to the Remington barrels wilson uses vs the Remington barrels that Remington uses.

If you buy a new 18" Police model 870 for around $750 all you need to do is have the sights installed. Put 1000 rounds through a new P and it will be smooth as butter too. Or start with a Wingmaster in the closet and it will already be butter smooth and cheaper.

Wilson likes to apply the pricing for hand fit custom 1911's to pump shotguns. It's insane. There is no meticulous precise parts fitting to do on an 870. They just make it pretty and double the price.
 
Both are great guns but a poor value, of course if you're getting good use out of either one, a couple of days worth of wages spent vs going with something cheaper is probably well worth it.

well, I agree. And part of the reason I'm arguing is to talk myself out of wanting one.

But....
For what they charge you could have Casey at Tac Ord do up a new P model and you could probably get it Vang'd to boot and be under the Wilson price. I mean, aren't these over $1400 in Canada? You could buy a new 870 Police and then you have a $700 budget for the build.
 
I was looking for a nice PA so I JUST picked up a SuperNova and thought that was on the high end which was $900 after tax... now I'm wondering if I made the right choice...
 
If it's Benelli, must be top of the line stuff, those are high end but that Wilson sure is a troublemaker... JP.
