Wilson slide on front strap checkering

I found one at my local gun store today. I was surprised they are aluminum not rubber. I put it on my Kimber Pro Carry since it was a stainless version. Seems good to me. Will know more after I shoot it.

Shoot it a bunch... just like a cheese grater on your palm. At least that's how it felt on a buddy's 1911A1 way back circa 1990 the last time I saw one....

Ouch! If that's the case it won't be on long. I do have some calloused man hands so I may be ok otherwise I will take it off. I do like the feel right now but without shooting a single round yet you may be right.
Same reason, too rough on hands or does it fall off or something? Too bad I like the look and feel!
Can you elaborate? I have tried the one I have for only about 200 rounds so far but I am liking it. I work with my hands a lot so if the only issue is that the checkering is too rough on the hands then that's not an issue with me.

It hasn't moved on me. Still trying to figure out what people don't like about it. I guess I may find out on my own sooner or later. If it passes the test after another thousand rounds I will keep it for sure.
