I just got a hold of a couple of boxes of this stuff. I haven't heard many positive reviews. How have you folks found it in terms of accuracy ?

I'd go out shooting today to answer my own question but the weather is crap.

I bought a bunch of the 20 grain super x stuff and it was gabage. Every 3rd or 4th case would split and need to be picked out with my pocket knife. It would shoot 3" plus at 100 yards for 3 shot groups. In there defense, I sent some ruptured cases back to winchester and they send me a gift certificate for all the ammo i had purchased. They offered to pay to have my gun shipped away to a gunsmith, fixed if necessary, and shipped back.

The winchester supreme 17 grain stuff, however, I never had a problem with. Kept em under a half inch at 100 yards and no fail to fire/eject/ruptures or anything.

Depends what you've got. It might be junk, it might not.

Did the ammo do any damage to your rifle ?

No, it didn't do any damage. I was impressed with the fact that they were willing to foot the bill to send it out to be checked out. I live in PEI, and I told the guy if I sent it somewhere, it'd be going to Epps, and he was ok with that. I spent my gift certificates on some 12g slugs and some more 17 grain stuff :)

I had the same issue with the winchester loads with a couple case splits and resulting jams. Switched to federal vmax loads and havent had a single issue in several hundred rounds.

I recently put 100 rounds of the winchester 17 gr vmax through my savage and had zero problems. In fact I have found my groups with winchester to be at least as tight as when I use the same hornady round.

I have never had a misfire or a split case with the Winchester loads. Below are a couple of five shot, 50 yard groups.

I shot a few boxes of win 20 gr win JHP through my marlin, i did not notice any accuracy issues, although i did have 1 shell out of 200 rounds stick in the chamber but with a couple of cycles of the bolt it extracted itself. if the price was right i would bite again.
