Just a question that popped up. Is there any weight difference between a pre to post 64 Win 1894 carbine? I don't own one later that the 1920's so have nothing to compare against.

I don't know if the difference would be anything significant, but any info would be appreciated!

i weighed 2 of them...one was 1949 32special and the other a 1971 32 special and came up with a difference of 41/2 ounces. the pre is heavier because of the better steel machined in the action. no appreciated difference felt when carrying them.

Depending on when in 1971 it was made, the difference could be due to the sheet metal parts used in the action, and the cheap rear sight they put on the '94 in those bad years.
Late 1971 they smartened up, and the old parts came back.
