Using 69g Lapua now in my 1-7. Switched from the 77g Lapua.
69g feed a bit more reliably from the mag in the AR, but don't group quite as well as the 77g at 500m.
I ran them in my 1-9 twist with consistently around 1.125" groups at 100 yards but that was the factory power points I may have to try loading them, not the most accurate load ever but certainly a practical load for a walking varmint gun.
If you're referring to the Winchester 64 gr FMJ bulk bullets, the accuracy is beyond miserable, regardless of twist or barrel quality. Lots of good bullets out there, so there's no need to waste money on those.
They are 64gr power point (lead point). Southern shooters say they hold together well, but I want accuracy so that is why I ask. I'll try some when I have time to load. thanks
