Win 30-30 1973 RCMP should I shoot it?

My record collecting friend (he has a Neil Young and the Squires 45 rpm record from 1963) says that anything put out called anything like "Collector's item" isn't.

Easy!!! No box, no papers, a $100 off or more. Trying to convince someone, (if you sold a family hierloom), that its unfired...Priceless. Someone past it down to you, take care of it, but shoot & hunt with it. Give it a story, then pass it down to another family member who will use it when the times comes.

The MP serial number there were just over 5,000 made while the RCMP serial number was over 10,000. So in total there is over 15,000 of these rifles out there with the MP getting about a 20% price premium.

I've seen a bunch of them ... the RCMP included move at $ 475 to $ 500 ... even with the box, in both rifle & carbine, round & octagon, and in calibers other than 30-30. Gawdy... certainly, collectible ... hardly ! How 'bout some nice Franklin Mint or Bradford Exchange stuff instead ????
