I have a chance to buy about 7 pounds of this stuff, but a quick Google search has me a bit anxious.....
I understand it was pulled off the market a LONG time ago.....
I have been assured it has been properly stored, looks and smells good.....
Based on that quick search, some folks say it works really well in .357 mag, .44 mag and .38 sol
others talk about flame cutting and damage to forcing cones on revolvers, though it was supposed to be better in semi-autos, or if you were shooting it in rifles (I imagine for cast bullets??).
Someone said that it tended to settle out and should be gently mixed before using.....
I emphasize that this was based on a quick glance at a few sites, NOT an in-depth look.
Couple of people said that there was a narrow margin of safety and that underloading resulted in high pressure and destroyed guns....
Anybody with any REAL WORLD experience with this stuff??
I load various handgun calibers, could also use it for cast bullets in 45-70, 30-06, or .303 Br.
I am away from home for a few days. I have at least 6 reloading manuals on the shelf, there, including some old ones that likely list this stuff.
....and yes, I do value my well-being (and that of my firearms)........
Thanks in advance
