Hey guys, I have a newer controlled round feed Winchester model 70 extreme weather ss 325wsm which I hate with a passion, can't get it to shoot less than a 2" group at 100 with any load I try and I've bought a tikka superlite to replace it for my hunting rifle, so I was thinking of using the action to build a 300wsm long range rig (I've always wanted to build off a win action is why I'm not just starting with a rem700) , I'm thinking a 1:10 or 1:11.25 5r m24 contour barrel, hirch has bartleins or I found a rock creek on the EE, now for a stock, I had my mind set on a Mcmillan a3 but cant seem to find anything on our side of the boarder for a Winchester,
this will be my first actual rifle build so any advise on the right channels to go through for build components would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks in advance

Or you could go with a 6.5 WSM (Leopard). Gary has all the parts and reamers. Makes a heck of a long range rifle with 140 Bergers. Better than the 26 Nosler.

I had a Model 70 Push Feed action SA RH built with a Benchmark barrel (sold by the master Gary E) in .260 Remmy. That baby could shoot way tighter than I could hold it. I ordered a McMillan HTG stock from the Arizona folks and had an American store help me with the shipping and importing and that was back in 2013. Things are extremely different now.

Gary Eakin is great for helping you with this build project. I still love Winnie's and have TWO of them for hunters and client shooters. Maybe another build is in order.....

Enjoy the Winnie build process! You will never regret it!

Cheers,
Barney
