Hi all. I've just ordered a pre 64, Model 94 in 30/30. I want to put on a shoulder sling as I'll be doing alot of hiking with it. Any advice on what to get and installation? I don't want to mess around too much as it's in great shape and I want to keep it that way (within reason).

The Type that mounts on the barrel band via a rivet, is weaker in my opinion than the type that mounts to the magazine via a split ring.
The problem with the latter is that if you have a really early gun, or a rplacement mag, with a split tube, or if you fall with the gun on your shoulder it may bend the tube mag on you.
 
I added the other styles that require a little disassembly just in case anyone was interested. I was kind of interested in the product myself :wink:
