Win 94 44 Mag cartridge guide questions help needed

So this post 64 Winchester 94 in 44 mag was missing the left cartridge guide. Ordered one from one of the few US suppliers that will ship to Canada and when installed the cartridge guide grooves did not match up with existing right side. Notifed them and they sent replacement which is identical to the 1st one they sent. So I took out the existing right side guide and it measures about 2 1/16" long wheras the ones they sent are about 1 13/16" long and if I line them up by the screw holes which align in the action frame the guide grooves in the new left side are almost 1/8" forward of the original right one.
Anybody familiar with this gun and caliber that can tell me the correct length of the left guide? Anybody know anybody in BC that might have one?
 
I believe you have the correct one. I’m pretty sure the right side is about 1/4” longer.
 
Im sorry if I'm stepping on your mechanical toes here but I have a Mossberg 94 clone in my shop right now that the guy brought in with the guides both on the wrong sides. they will fit into the mill slot & screw's line up. this puts them on the wrong sides & upside down, the cartridge rim lift grooves slope the wrong way. If you have two of the same side guides and installed one on the right side & the other inadvertently on the wrong side & upside down, that would make the lift groove on one side appear the distance you indicate further ahead than the other side (one would slope ahead and the other slope back).

I'm not saying that this is the absolute case . but I dont know your mechanical experience and I certainly dont intend to offend but have seen some guns with some very strange "repairs" over the year.

Is many, many models of post 64 Model 94's listed - that might not be the correct model shown.

Thanks but their photo for part #11 in 44 mag matches what they sent me. If you look at their photo for the right guide part #10 in 44 mag it is quite a bit diff than their #11

Here are the photos I took showing photos the original right cartridge guide that I removed from the gun for these photos is on the right and both of the left side guides the ones they sent me are on the left.

So, maybe I am mis-understanding your original post. Maybe to put some perspective.

I have two elderly single shot boy's rifles here - received perhaps a couple weeks ago - very filthy - took some time to dismantle to clean. And discovered in both there has been someone in there over past 90 or 100 years - screw slots bent over, home made parts that are broken.

So, is no real reason to know that the part you removed was correct original, since partner part was not there? Pictures from Numrich were showing what they claim was what the new parts from factory looked like, in that particular model (of many) of that rifle - different to each other - not the same. Is it possible that you need both a left AND a right side correct part??

I suppose that is a possibility that someone bubba'd it but as per my original post I was hoping that someone more knowledgeable than me might be able to tell me the length of the correct left 44 mag cartridge guide and now since you raised the possibility it would be good to know the length of the right one as well.

Pardon the photo’s orientation. It’s the best I could find with a ruler next to them and being clearly described as post 64 .44 Mag.
The second photos are from Numrich.
 
After reviewing my photos and serial number Numrich says my right guide is the longer variation and they have located a matching left which they are sending me. They have been very good about sending me the replacements. Hope this is the correct one now. Hopefully Canada Customs dosnt take so fricking long to clear this time. Both prior parts took about 5 days to clear customs in Montreal and then for some reason only known to some federal bureaucratic imbecile they are sent to Richmond BC to clear customs again. last package sat at Richmond customs for 15 days. I guess the post office thinks Quebec is a different country than BC. end of rant
 
I finally got the third part and it is the short one matching my original right guide. Put it in and chambers perfectly. According to Numrich there is both a long and short version guide for the 44mag and they normally just stock the long ones.
