I have chance to buy a 1982 94ae src in 44mag as new, any issues with these rifles i also understand it can be scoped? any idea of value? thanks in advance Earl

I had one with a 16" barrel and it was great, I sold it in a moment of stupidity.

The 44s kick, but prices are all over the board. They were as low as $600+-, and as close to 1200. I would like it at 800 but that may not be possible now.

I would stay away from pistol cartridges in any '94. They are prone to "stove piping" the rounds if cycled fast. Just ask the cowboy guys. '94 was designed for longer cartridges, the '92 platform for shorter cartridges. A '92 or a Henry might be a better option or of course you can't go wrong with a JM a Marlin in pistol carts
