win 94 comming back in 09

Nah, I still prefer the Marlins. Never been a fan of straight stocks. Much prefer the look and feel of a curved grip and I like taking the bolts out so I can clean from the chamber side. They feel more solid too. Had a 94 drop some parts on a hunting trail so hard to trust. Found the bits and put it back together but coulda been worse. Borrowed gun.

I hope the bring them out with the Octagonal Barrels again and in the longer version. To look more dated to the past.

With the new calibers that came out recently, it will be interesting to see if we can get them in, let's say: 338 Federal, 375 Ruger or in one of the new RSM's made by Hornady... I already own a Marlin in .35 Rem. and I have easy access to a Mod.94 in 30-30, so they would have to come up with something exciting for me to take out my wallet...

waitaminute - we've just heard an uncomfirmed rumour that the 94 is coming back - with no details whatsoever, on design, build, location, etc - and have already decided that the old one is better?

high grade is the only way it will sell. why would i spend $5-600 for a new one in 30WCF, when i can find a pre-64 in 30WCF for $3-400?

new and exciting cartridges? how many here bought a 375, 307, 356 or 7-30 waters? maybe they should bring out a 416 winchester on either the 356 or 444 case.

Why would you buy a new bolt gun for $1000 when you can buy a used one for $600?

the only new gun in the $1000 price range that even remotely tempts me is the ruger #1.

show of hands, who would buy a new model 94 in the same configuration as it was being sold a couple of years ago? especially considering you could have but didn't buy it then.

The million dollar question is... will it truly be in the same configuration as it was being sold a couple of years ago?
