I had a buddy give me a new in the box 30/30 win 94. When it is loaded with three in the tube and i chamber the first round it fires fine. But then when I chamber the second round it is still suck up in the tubular mag. I have to put the third one back in to dislodge it. Then I can get it to cycle all three out. This has happened three times now. Any help on what might be causing this would be great.

Cheers

May be the way you are cycling it. Dont be a pussy with them-they dont like it. Open and close with authority and the problem should go away. Some of my bolts dont like a light touch either. Dont be shy with these actions-they are really tough. I have an 1894 made in 1900 that I shoot regularly and its still fairly snug. And yes, it has been used a lot. Even my 1930ish BSA Martini 22 single shot will not eject unless I am fairly firm with it. CYcles flawlessly when I am quick. Go nice and easy and no end of grief with some of my guns even the newer bolts. Same thing with Remmie pump shotguns. Slam bam is good. Go easy and you may be field stripping.

What ammo are you using? Factory? does it matter which round(s) are fed into the magazine first?
