Win. 94 question

i was comparing my new mdl 94 to a friend of mines (circa 1950's & 70's)
the stocks on his two rifles looked a lot tougher than mine.

are the stocks on the older 94's the same wood as the new ones?

What kind of wood is used on the new productions of Winchester mdl 94?

I'm pretty sure they use Walnut.

I think it depends on the model: some are walnut and others are "hardwood".

the one i have is the trails end with 20" barrel. my friends older models are both identical to mine but are in 30-30 rather than .357 mag.
