Win 9422 scope mounting

I got a Win lever 22lr model 9422 about a year and a half ago and I have tried to mount first a red dot on it then a 1in 3x9 scope.Not having much luck getting the rings to stay attached.It seems to me like the mounting slots are not really cut either deep enough or at wrong angle.and the slightest think knocks the scope or red dot off the rifle.I have tried about 4 different makes of rings and it is all the same.Anyone else have this problem?any suggestions?
I have been meaning to take a file to the rings to see if I could sharpen them up so to speak to see if the would sit a little deeper in the slots but haven't got arround to it yet.

I have the Weaver rings on mine and no problem. I have tried others like Tasco and another brand? and had the same problem you have.

The scope I had the best luck with in regards to rings and ability to mount far enough forward was a Simmons Rimfire.

Mine used to slide around a bit too. I miss that rifle. It eventually wound up with a Williams peep sight on it.

Burris "deluxe" one inch .22 rings fit properly on mine.

Scope Mount

Get a Weaver 9422 scope base that slides over the rimfire groves, and then you can mount a decent 1" scope with weaver rings. It will not move.

+1 on the Burris Deluxe rings. Worked great on the 9422 that I had, and now work equally well on the 9422M.

This is the only way to mount a scope on a 9422 and get the right eye relief....other then drilling and tapping.

Well it depends on the scope, gotta clear the hammer(can add the ext). as for a tang sight, it will get in the way, no fun
Had a setup, 4x and high rings, worked fine..

What do you mean tang sights will get in the way? I heard lots of positives from rfc members about tang sighted 9422s
