win. 97 takedown

Do any people collect these, or just cut them for cowboy guns? This gun was built in 98, first of the takedowns. good overall, may use it as a shooter. An attic find. Thanks.

cowboy shooters use them and I see them also used by people shooting in black powder cartridge shotgun events. If everything is working I would guess in the $300 range

Unless they are in pristine condition for a collection, the only people using them these days are Cowboy shooters. A suitably modified Cowboy Action M97 prepped for competition, ie; trigger work done, barrel cut back to 20" and a screw in choke that doesn't show will cost you from $450-$500 depending on the finish of the gun has remaining. Yours does appear to be worth about $300-$350 as is.
