All right nobody laugh. I have a 1958 Winchester Mod 50 12ga full choke that I am going to start turkey hunting with. The gun shoots good so I'm going to tear it down and clean the heck outta it, I was thinking of trying a homemade camo paint job, sling and maybe a new sight. Here's the question, should I leave the single bead at the end of the barrel or should I switch to something more effective? Also anybody know any special tips about the workings of this fine old shottie?

All I know is that a buddy got one and had a cycling problem.

If I remember right he got advice here on adjusting the tension on a spring.

I own two of them, they have to be timed so that the slide doesn't beat the hell out of the reciever. If it ejects the shells out like five or six feet then the timing is out. I also have the origonal owners manual with all of the info and tear down instructions PM me if you want a copy emailed to you.
